PIPE SHELLS

A wide variety of shapes and features can be obtained from a block of material by means of CNC cutting machines, given the ease with which rigid polyurethane and polyisocyanurate foams are machined. These products are machined into pipe shells, sections, elbows and can be sold directly or equipped with a vapour barrier in situ. There are two types of vapour barriers available:

  • aluminium-polyester multilayer complex for non-visible applications: T-PIR
  • aluminium-polyester-PVC multilayer complex for visible applications with a great visual appearance, resistant to impacts and the elements: T-PIR+system.

These products can be machined using any of the commercialised foams, especially PUR D35, PUR D40, PIR M and CASSPIR.

Technical characteristics

  • Rigid polyurethane or polyisocyanurate foam, machined in half-pipe from a block.
  • Pipe shells can be supplied with a factory built-in vapour barrier (VB). Two VB systems are available with the use of PIR M as core insulation:
    • aluminium-polyester multilayer complex for non-visible applications: T-PIR
    • aluminium-polyester-PVC multilayer complex for visible applications with a great visual appearance, resistant to impacts and the elements: T-PIR++system.

Dimensions

  • 1,000 mm long pipe shell.
  • Diameter and thickness according to the client's needs.
  • Thermal insulation for pipes up to 12 inches in diameter are in 180º sections.
  • Machined with half lap to avoid thermal bridging.

Applications

  • Pipe thermal insulation for the chemical industry, refrigerating installations, tunnel freezers and air-conditioning systems.
