CASSPIR

Rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam boards free of CFC and HCFC gas types, cut from a block.

The rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam is a variant of the polyurethane (PUR) foam; although it is practically identical in appearance, mechanical and thermal properties, it has a greater resistance to fire and temperature. In fires, the PIR foam reacts creating a superficial carbonised layer protecting and impeding the penetration of fire toward inner layers.

Applications

  • The formulation and design of the CASSPIR foam give it specific thermal and mechanical properties which make it especially suitable as a thermal insulator to store and transport LNG (liquefied natural gas) and general cryogenic applications.
